Gurdal Office & Showroom
Located in İkitelli Keresteciler Çarşısı, this industrial project consists of a prefabricated, two-story core and shell structure composed of two blocks. Designed for Gürdal Hardware, the building prioritizes operational flow and spatial flexibility. The upper floor is designated for executive offices, while storage areas extend along the left side on both levels. The ground floor functions as a showroom, where the brand’s extensive product range is displayed with a focus on functionality.
Throughout the design process, unnecessary architectural elements were eliminated, and the structure was reinforced with steel beams. The existing concrete flooring was removed and replaced with a steel slab, ensuring both structural integrity and adaptability in spatial organization. While the overall aesthetic references its industrial context, the interior office spaces contrast this raw atmosphere with refined matte epoxy coatings. A clear functional separation is established between the showroom and storage areas, enhancing the efficiency of the space.
Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a striking meeting room, positioned centrally as a monolithic red volume. Designed with acoustic insulation in mind, this space is enriched with baffle panels and carpet flooring, ensuring both sound control and visual impact. On the upper floor, executive offices feature wooden details and free-laid carpets, creating a warm contrast to the otherwise industrial material palette and enhancing the workspace atmosphere.
In the Kitchen and WC areas, brushed stainless steel countertops maintain the project’s raw material approach, reinforcing the industrial character of the design.
The showroom is conceived as a modular display system tailored to the brand’s hardware products. Sliding doors, drawers, faucets, door and cabinet handles, and sliding systems are allocated dedicated sections, ensuring an organized and functional exhibition space while allowing for adaptable configurations based on different usage scenarios. The facade with metal shutters provide dedicated access for trucks and forklifts. Internally, sliding and folding glass partitions establish a flexible relationship between distinct functions, strengthening the project’s industrial yet meticulously curated atmosphere.
