Pera Lisboa
Located in one of the hip streets of Bairro Alto, we created a concept design for a new design objects store in Lisbon. Owners of the new store are a couple whose interests differ as one of them is a jewelry designer and one is an artist. Their shared interest in arts & craft had moved us to create a space for them to exhibit their works. Along their crafting and displaying areas, our task was to create a flexible environment to host jewelry workshops, a barista area for serving coffee and other beverages, a space for retail of designer clothes, and a screening area to host parties inside this 50 sqm space. Previously owned by an artist as a creative studio, this place already had the beautiful historical stone flooring, which we decided to keep as it is. Also, it had the structural arches inside which we see as a fundamental interior element for Lisbon, we decided to dramatize this elements more by using down-lights underneath them. Designing modular furnitures helped us to create a flexible space that can adapt to its users needs. And, also we added a sliding metal window ( of a style that references Pera neighborhood doors from İstanbul) as a partition between the display area and the jewelry making area, when open, enables to host jewelry workshops inside the store.
